PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN AND HELPING OUR FIRST RESPONDERS PROTECT OUR COMMUNITY
Keeping our children and residents safe requires a sober assessment of risks facing our community and a plan to address these risks. Over the last 2½ years as a member of the Township Committee I’ve addressed long standing public safety issues including:
- Securing a State grant for construction of a sidewalk from the Delaware Township School (DTS) to the center of Sergeantsville. The sidewalk will serve as an “School Evacuation Route” so that in the case of an emergency at DTS, our children can be safely evacuated to the Sergeantsville Volunteer Fire Company’s firehouse. The sidewalk will also make Sergeantsville a safer and more walkable community.
- Working with the Sergeantsville Volunteer Fire Company to provide the funding needed to provide for the community’s present fire protection services (including the financing to replace a twenty plus year old tanker truck) and to cooperatively plan for the community’s fire protection needs in the future.
